Michael is going to be my last interview for this show. And appropriate as such, he doesn’t skirt the issue of race and gentrification. He doesn’t see the changes as good and wants to push back to preserve the culture and community. I think one thing that is crystal clear throughout all of these interview–those who have lived here for generations+ and those that are new to Harlem–is that the conversation of change has been happening here for a long time.
